Easy way to remove messy formatting copied from MS Word
Microsoft Word is notorious for putting junk formatting code into content management systems. Freestyler offers a quick and easy fix for this.
In the past, if you continued to have formatting problems when copying and pasting from Word, you'd be advised to copy into a text editor like Notepad (to strip out the formatting) and then apply formatting within the CMS or as a last resort to go into HTML mode and clean out the junk manually.
While these options still work well there is a much quicker, easier method in Freestyler. Versions 5.2 and newer have a "Clean Messy Code" option. The little screenshot below shows where to find this.

After clicking this and committing your edit, the messy code will be gone.
You can't always spot when messy code is introduced, but if you do find it is then use this function.
In fact I just now do it out of habit just to make sure if I'm copying and pasting from Word.
You will also find information on this and other functions in the Freestyler help guides.
Hope this tip helps.
